The HR Compensation, benefits and Services (CBS) group is the center of expertise for financial and social conditions and benefits, from devising policies to attract and retain a quality workforce, to providing services to beneficiaries, processing claims, ensuring compliance with CERN's legal framework and making appropriate use of the Organization's resources.
We are responsible for CERN’s salary grid, the stipend scheme, and the career structure and we ensure equitable implementation throughout the career from entry salaries to recognition of Merit including promotions.
We take care of CERN’s comprehensive social security scheme, including the CERN Health Insurance (CHIS), unemployment benefits, and family benefits (allowances and education fees).
We are the reference for employment conditions such as leave and working hours, and entitlements upon taking up and terminating your employment or association with CERN.
Our Records Office oversees all administrative actions and our Cards Service takes care of the French and Swiss legitimation cards as well as visa requests.
As part of the Group's mandate and in order to carry out its role of controlling beneficiaries' rights, the services may contact the issuer of a supporting document to check the accuracy of its content. They may also ask an external service for any information regarding a situation that needs further clarification.
