Hostel Accommodation
You will find in your room:
- a bed
- a desk, a lamp, a chair…
- blankets, bedsheets, towels (sheets and towels are changed once a week)
The hostel reception in building 39 organizes the administration for both buildings 38, 41 and the Saint-Genis hostel.

- CERN Hostel in Meyrin (Switzerland): If you arrive within the hostel reception's opening hours (Mon-Fri 7:30 am to midnight and Sat-Sun 9:00 am to midnight) you should go to the reception of building 39 to get the keys to your room. If you expect to arrive later than 12:00 am, you must inform the Hostel Reception in advance and specify your time of arrival. Room keys can be obtained from the security guard on duty at the entrance to CERN's Meyrin site - Gate B (building 533). They will also give you a map of CERN.
- Saint-Genis Hostel (France): In Saint Genis, the check-in is possible only between 15:15 and 19:00 weekly. If you arrive outside of these hours you should go to the CERN site in Meyrin (you must inform the Hostel Reception in advance). If the reception of building 39 is open, they will give you the keys to your room in Saint-Genis, otherwise, if the reception is closed, room keys can be obtained from the security guard on duty at the entrance to CERN's Meyrin site - Gate B (building 533).

It is called "Foyer Robert Schuman" and it is located: 340 Rue de l'Europe, 01630 Saint-Genis-Pouilly, France.
Turn left out of CERN entrance B. Continue straight until you arrive at the big roundabout before Saint-Genis-Pouilly. At the roundabout take the Head 1st Head exit and after 120 m. turn left toward Rue de l'Europe. Continue onto Rue de l'Europe and it's the first (pink) building on the left.

All the Hostels have Wifi which you can use once you have your CERN computer accounts.
- In hostel buildings 38, 39 and 41 on the Meyrin site (Swiss side) you can connect as soon as you have your account.
- At the Hostel in Saint-Genis-Pouilly (French side) you have to go to the reception to ask for a special card giving an access code which allows you to access the internet. All of these services are available free of charge.
In the CERN hostels:
There are laundry rooms in each of the three buildings, with washers and dryers available to the guests. You shall collect a cash card at the Hotel Reception in b.39 to use the facilities, washing powder will be provided at the same time by the reception team. There are also hand-washing facilities for delicates (a couple of big sinks), as well as iron and ironing board.

- dryer: approx. 2 CHF
In Saint Genis:
A laundry room is available to the guests, to use through a smartphone app. The reception team can assist you in logging and using the facilities. You need to buy your own washing powder.
